Self-doubt is normal.
It’s not special.
It’s not a sign you’re broken.
It’s a sign you’re human.
Everyone hears it.
The artists who win don’t wait for it to go away.
They move anyway.
They work anyway.
They build enough proof to make their doubt irrelevant.
You don’t defeat self-doubt by arguing with it.
You defeat it by drowning it in momentum.
Outwork it.
Outlast it.
Let your finished work make the argument for you.
The trickiest part of Artist Development is consistency in the face of uncertainty.
Just like a long walk can suddenly shake loose an answer to a problem you couldn’t solve, progress on a project will turn self-doubt into self-belief.
Remember to put:
One song in front of the other.
One word at a time.
See you next Sunday,
Neil
