๐Ÿ’กโœ๏ธ ADN 013: How To Be A Team Player

artist development artist development newsletter team teamwork Feb 25, 2023

If you’re an artist, you are busy.

If you have a team, your team is busy too.

In the best artist + team relationships, everyone understands and respects one another and their time.

Whether you are the artist or on the artist’s team, here is a simple framework for providing updates & staying accountable to each other.

Team Player Framework:

  • Here is what you asked me to do

It’s a busy world; prepare to cut to the chase.

When it’s time for a catch-up, go from point (A) to point (B), not point (A) to point (Z).

Here is why this works:

Effective communication? Check.

Effective leadership? Check.

How do you do it?

Before your next check-in, write out your thoughts per the Team Player Framework.

I love a Moleskine journal for putting pen to page.

Digitally, there are a million easy options.

Apple Notes, and Google Docs, are great free options.

The goal is to prepare.

The best way to be prepared is to take action.

Taking action means sorting through your thoughts ahead of time.

Use the Team Player Framework to help yourself and those working around you.

The result?

Better communication.

Accomplished goals.

See you next Sunday!
